In the framework of the V Iberoamerican Congress on Geometry, and as a warming up activity for it, we are organizing the First Summer School on Complex Geometry.
The School is aimed to graduate and advanced-level undergraduate students. Speakers and mentors will include mathematicians, from senior researchers to post-docs and graduate students.
We will have lectures in the mornings, and intense work groups and forum discussions in the afternoons. The lectures will include two minicourses and contributed talks, covering topics such as abelian varieties, Riemann and Klein surfaces, group actions, algebraic curves and varieties, afine varieties, vector bundles. The forums will be around general subjects (e.g. history and current development of the field, mathematical job and career, work in collaboration, etc.). The afternoon activities will also include fifteen minute talks given by the students participating on the School.
Please draw the attention of qualified students to our school. Offers of talks, on surveys, recent results, motivation, are very welcome and appreciated.
